Bruce is a native Californian and spent his formative years in Whittier, Ca.; home of the Quakers. Bruce is a Vietnam Era Army veteran. Upon completion of his service requirement, he went to college on the GI Bill where he majored in business. For the vast majority of his adult life, 34 years, he pursued a career with the Los Angeles Department of Water & Power (LADWP) where he rose to the position of “Manager of Business Arrangements – Water System”. Shortly after retirement, in 2000, Bruce was informed that his Prostate Cancer was terminal and that he might not live more than 6 months. This led to excessive drinking and the predictable consequences. In October of 2004, Bruce entered a rehabilitation facility and has been sober ever since. From March of 2005 until September 2006, he worked on the Recovery Radio show as Executive Producer. During this period, he worked closely with his friend and co-host of the radio show, Dr. “Steve” Groth. In November of 2006, Bruce, Dr. Steve, and another friend, Melissa Stewart, joined together to form California Together Associates which publishes “California Together”. By the way, Bruce’s “terminal cancer” is now in remission.
